Description
Born on March 3, 1978 in Shreyan village near Theog in Shimla, Hari Dun Bhardwaj completed his schooling from Government High School in his native village. His father was interested in social service and remained village pradhan for many years. Hari Dutt, however, was attracted towards flute playing from his childhood days and studies after completing metric. He received early lessons of education in Indian Classical music in flute playing from his grandfather Chet Ram Sharma who was a flute maestro in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting song and drama division in Shimla. Since 2004, Hari Dutt is getting education through guru shishya parampara from Pt. Ronu Majumdar in Mumbai. India's ace flutist Ronu Majumdar needs no introduction to music lovers all over the globe. Majumdar belongs to Maihar Gharana which has thrown up musicians of the eminence of Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Hari Dun Bhardwaj is also a recipient of many awards for his performances as a flutist, including 'Youth Award' in 2008. He was also nominated for Ustad Bismilla Khan Award in 2007-08. Earlier Hari Dutt had won eight gold medals in State level open Youth Festival from 2001 to 2008 in addition to winning silver medal in Open National Youth Festival held in Patna in 2005. Not only this, he has also performed many times in different European countries like Norway, Germany, Denmark and England and. Apart from this He has performed in Canda and China. Hari Dun also received national awards in 2005 and 2008. Hari Dun Bhardwaj is an approved artist of All India Radio, Doordarshan and Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi. Hari Dutt, who has been touring continuously to different places for his performances, says that he will continue training under guru shishya parampara for the rest of his life.
